Power Electronics Systems

Beschreibung

Power electronic circuits have become an integral part of our daily lives. From the simple charger of our cell phones to the complicated electric drive system of modern electric and hybrid vehicles.

The lecture focuses on power electronic systems, taking a holistic view of the circuits, from block diagrams to EMC testing.

Course content:

 Power electronics basics
 Basic circuits of power electronics
 Power electronic components
Control methods for single-phase and three-phase inverters
Space vector modulation and field-oriented control of electrical machines
Power factor correction (practical simulation exercise)
 Resonant converters
EMC and power electronics, a special challenge

Learning objectives of the module:
Professional skills:
- Students have a sound knowledge of the most important components, circuit topologies, control and regulation strategies and the areas of application of power electronic systems

Methodological skills:
- Students acquire the ability to analyze, conceptualize and design power electronic systems
