Description
Course participants develop their individual intercultural (management) competency through a mixture of theoretical input and practical learning experiences in culturally mixed teams with students of HTWG Konstanz and international exchange students from HTWG partner universities.
Learning objectives
Awareness about misperceptions and reasons for conflict in intercultural communication, basic knowledge about intercultural communication theory, enhancement of students’ personal intercultural competence through reflection about experiences in intercultural student teams (group work), mutual feedback and coaching by the teacher
Content
Theories and models of intercultural communication and communication psychology, experience of and reflection about individual intercultural competence, individual intercultural coaching (online tool Intercultural Development Inventory)
Methods
Theoretical input, group work in intercultural teams, experience oriented intercultural exercises, supervised self-reflection and individual intercultural coaching by the teachers
